Our story

Who are we? Valerie, Hannah & Fenna. Three women eager to start & grow their own business.

 

During spring 2021 two of us came back from 7 years of Expat Life in the United Arab Emirates and that felt as the perfect moment for a fresh start, it was now or never! With our big love for scented candles we knew within seconds it had to be a scented candle company. We always lit candles bought all over the world and brought many of these home to family & friends in the Netherlands.

 

Everyone was always delighted with these good smelling gifts and how great would it be to offer our family, friends or everyone else in the Netherlands our own handmade scented candles? Scent of Sonder was born! Sonder; the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

For us Sonder means everyone and everything has it's uniqueness, just like our scented candles. In our collection every candle is unique.

 

Most important for us were the scents. We want our livingspace filled with the best scents! Our first collection contains candles with many different fragrances and unique labeling. Because the environment is important to us, we use 100% plant based wax, called rapeseed wax. We believe rapeseed wax is the future and contributes to sustainable living.
